In the downtown area, immediately neighbouring Place Stanislas, the Rives de Meurthe site is home primarily to service-sector companies. With links from all of the metropolitan area's major roadways, the highly-efficient public transport system and Tramway line, the Rives de Meurthe site is just a few minutes from the future TGV station. As Nancy's latest landscaped neighbourhood, it contains higher learning establishments, recently-built housing, a multiplex, gardens and, soon, a shopping centre.

With the TGV coming in 2007, the central station area is destined to become the second major development hub in the heart of Nancy. The sector already offers nearly 75,000 m² in office space and will offer, starting in 2007, in the Republique Building, over 6,500 m² in new premises, near the new convention centre and station. An additional 50,000 m² are planned in the 10 years to come.

The creation of a Urban Free-Zone (ZFU) in Greater Nancy Area, in the Nations Quarter of Vandoeuvre and in the Plateau Quarter in Nancy-Maxéville, offers companies the opportunity to enjoy fiscal and employer tax exonerations for five years.
In the Plateau area, near the motorway on-ramps and a few minutes from downtown, 7.5 hectares of land and thousands of square metres in office space (small and large surfaces) are available.
In Vandoeuvre, several real estate projects are planned in 2006, in Vand'Est and Montet Octroit, and more than 3,000 m² of store space is currently on offer.

All of the industrial site offer companies optimal development conditions: most are linked to the Metropolitan Telecommunications Network, RMT, offering very high-speed access, and direct access to motorway infrastructures and an extensive range of convenience services. Above and beyond current capacity, other sites will host new business activities in the years to come: there are plans to equip the Plaines Rive Droite zone, a vast 150-hectare expanse that is currently available, and programmes are being conducted on the Solvay Quarries in Nancy-Maxéville. In addition, certain existing sites, such as Ludres, Heillecourt or the Nancy-Brabois Technopole, still have expansion capacity.
The Urban Community works everyday alongside associations of company leaders in the metropolitan area's main industrial activities areas as part of the ATP Approach (an Association, a Territory, a Project), combining their efforts to support the most outstanding sites (Dynapôle, Porte Sud, Grande Sapinière, Maxéville, Marcel Brot, Porte Verte and Nancy Brabois Technopole). |
