Extensive Medical Renown

In Eastern France, the Nancy Regional University Teaching Hospital's reputation cannot be challenged. 2 million residents are directly dependent on it, while patients from more remote regions also come there to receive care. With nearly 1,000 physicians and 2,000 nurses, the centre's healthcare offering includes nearly 40 medical fields.

The patients are not the only ones who recognise the Hospital's expertise: future physicians also sing its praises for the quality of its medical training.

The Centre is also a major hub for innovation. Its teams have distinguished themselves through such successes as a double transplant of the upper limbs and bypass surgery performed using entirely endoscopic means - a first in France. It was one of the first establishments in France to become equipped with a Pet scan and Cyclotron, high-technology tools used to for high-precision location of cancerous tumours. At the cutting edge of medicine, it recently secured itself an ultra-modern neurology division and a children's cardiac surgery unit. A major cardiology unit is under construction.
